So, the first test fire for Splatoon 2 has come to an end so I thought I’d blog about my initial thoughts about Nintendo’s cartoony, colourful shooter.
During the test fire, you have access to 4 guns, I found all but one to be useful. The Splat Roller is great fun, just covering the arena in paint and anyone unlucky enough to be in front of you will know about it. My personal favorite gun from the test fire has to be the dual splatties, Splatoon 2’s newest addition. The one gun that I didn’t like was the Sniper Rifle (I forget the name). It was almost useless at helping your team paint the arena and felt a bit underpowered when up against anyone in mid to close range combat. If you spent time to learn the best way to use it and perfect your movement, it can probably be a very effective weapon however initial impression is that it needs some work.
During the test fire, we have access to two maps, sprawling gym Musselforge Fitness and boutique shopping district The Reef, both of these maps felt great.
We have 4 test fire events remaining, next one is 3am UK time so I’ll certainly be missing that one but I can’t wait to get back on and play some more Splatoon 2! Here are the remaining test slots.
